OBSE Is Now Recruiting Volunteers for the TowneBank Outer Banks Marathon!

Outer Banks Sporting Events will be hosting their 13th annual TowneBank Outer Banks Marathon this November 10-11, 2018. Athletes from all over the country will arrive to participate in the event to be held from Kitty Hawk, NC  to Manteo, NC on beautiful Roanoke Island.

Great Events only exist because of the generous time donated by great volunteers! And while it’s great to help other people, the benefits for the volunteer is quite surprising!

Here Are Four Benefits of Volunteering And Why You Should Give It A “TRI”!

Health – Volunteers say that they feel better physically, mentally and emotionally!

Stress – Volunteering helps people to manage and lower their stress levels!

Purpose – Volunteers feel a deeper connection to the community and to others!

Engagement – Volunteers are more informed, engaged and involved in managing their health.

Furthermore, a recent organizational survey of people who volunteered for the first time found that 100% felt good and happy! 50% felt physically happier and 75% of volunteers felt the need to volunteer again.

OBSE is a 501c3 nonprofit that gives back to the community by donating 100% of it’s net proceeds equally between the Dare Education Foundation and the Outer Banks Relief Foundation.

Plenty of spots are still open! Large and small office or school groups are welcome. Volunteer hours given where needed for our youth. All volunteers are fed and receive a “Race Crew”  T-Shirt.
